Attorney Adam N. Schanz earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, with Honors, from University of California, Santa Barbara. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine School of Law in 2006. During law school, Mr. Schanz clerked for the Honorable Robert P. Applegate in the Los Angeles Superior Court, Family Law Division.
Since admission to the California Bar in 2006, Mr. Schanz has worked solely in the private practice of Family Law where he has built an exemplary reputation for integrity, professionalism, and dedication to his work. He has represented hundreds of clients including many professionals, celebrities, and high net worth individuals. He possesses a vast amount of experience successfully handling hundreds of complex litigation matters and virtually every aspect of family law matters.
Mr. Schanz has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by the Super Lawyers publication in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2018, he was recognized as a “Super Lawyer” in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, and he is AV Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
Brittney A. Stone, Esq.
Associate Attorney
Born and raised in New Jersey, Brittney earned her Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles where she received First Honors in Family Law, California Civil Procedure, and Torts. She graduated as a double major with honors from the Pennsylvania State University where she majored in Broadcast Journalism and Kinesiology.
During law school, Brittney volunteered at the Legal Aid Domestic Violence Clinic in Santa Monica, California, affirming her passion for providing peace of mind to clients experiencing major life transitions. Located in the Santa Monica Courthouse, the Clinic provides assistance to low income residents concerning child abduction, custody and visitation, domestic violence, and support issues.
Brittney also worked as a law clerk for the Law Office of Adam N. Schanz during her second and third years of law school before she was admitted to the California Bar in December 2019. Her years of experience with our firm has provided her with the skills necessary to resolve complex family law matters including international custody disputes, support issues, child custody, property division, restraining orders and premarital agreements.
Darya Hakimpour, Esq.
Associate Attorney
Born and raised in Palos Verdes, California, Darya graduated from the University of California, Irvine as a Political Science major. Beginning in 2013, she began developing her experience in Family Law as a law clerk. She eventually earned her Juris Doctor from Whittier Law School, throughout which time she continued clerking in Family Law.
During law school, Darya earned a Certificate in Child and Family Law, obtained CALI Awards in both the Law of Domestic Relations: Adult Relationships and Adoption Law. She was an Editor for the Whittier Journal of Child and Family Advocacy, an Honors Organization and journal publication concentrating on the issues involving children, families, and domestic relations.
Following her admission to the California Bar in 2018, Darya was a post-Bar Judicial Extern for the Honorable Otis D. Wright, II of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Since March 2019, Darya has limited her practice to Family Law.
Darya’s article, “Distributing Children as Property: The Best Interest of the Children or Best Interest of the Parents?” was published in Loyola University, Chicago’s Children’s Legal Rights Journal. She is fluent in Farsi and Spanish.
